Use your research findings and build upon them by using the topic Resources and your own additional research to learn more about the specific national and state laws and district requirements related to the use of academic assessments with students with ASD. Your goal is to learn about the role of academic assessments at all levels of education (early, primary, secondary, and as part of the transition planning process) and how they are used to ensure the individual needs of the student are being met. In 1,250-1,500 words, address the following:

  • Identify key state assessments that are often used for students with ASD to assess skills and monitor progress in reading, writing, and math. Summarize the content and frequency of each assessment, provide a rationale for its use, and explain who is responsible for administering such assessments and interpreting results. Discuss the role each assessment plays in determining academic IEP goals.
  • Define the term curriculum-based measures. Summarize the content and frequency of each assessment, provide a rationale for its use, and explain who is responsible for administering such assessments and interpreting results. Discuss the role each assessment plays in determining academic IEP goals.
  • The level of autism plays a role in the selection of academic assessments. Discuss why it is essential to focus on academic skills for all students with ASD, even though a student might benefit more from a strong focus on adaptive behavior and/or social skills. Explain why consideration of all of these factors is critical when developing academic goals for students.
  • Describe why it is important to be mindful of academic accommodations and modifications that are provided to students with ASD across the continuum of education. Discuss how this ensures they are prepared to meet their goals specific to transitioning from the educational environment to the professional world. Include discussion of why it is important for the IEP team to consider all of the transitions students will encounter between early, primary, and secondary education environments as well as preparing them to transition to life as young adults.
  • Explain why it is important as an autism specialist to maintain a broad , big picture view of the student to ensure the current needs are being met as you continue to help the student move toward future aspirations.

Thank you for your comments. The more research I do, the more I find that predictive analytics is raising the bar when it comes to cyber security dashboards and data analysis. A more proactive approach to cyber security is required. Knowing where hackers are likely to strike next, where your weaknesses are, and how well-prepared you are to defend against an attack before it’s too late are all things that predictive analytics may help you with. Cyber-attacks are typically found by accumulating as much information as possible about known breaches, phishing schemes, and active malware, then tracking the “signatures” of these attacks so that systems can recognize them when they arrive. In other words, after these hazardous individuals have committed or attempted enough crimes, their photograph is distributed to all security systems so they can recognize them as soon as they arrive.

Although useful, this system is far from ideal. For instance, it doesn’t preclude dangerous and extremely intelligent hackers from successfully accessing the products on their first try. It informs you of the most common strategies hackers employed last month, but it offers no preparation for what they might employ the next week. Because of this, the smartest minds in cybersecurity are switching from utilizing only descriptive analytics to predictive analytics.

Wearable Tech for health purposes should be the consumers choice and based on individual need. There are many Pros to wearable devices. Combined with medical apps wearable devices can help encourage diet and exercise. Help with preventive measures such as glucose monitoring and blood pressure. Disease monitoring leads to great health benefits, early detection and low cost for consumers and insurances.

However, having to wear a wearable device for the sake of insurance purposes just for the sake of cost, I disagree with. Not only is it an invasion of privacy but a violation of HIPAA to an extent. Studies have shown that wearables are not serving the people who would benefit the most such as marginalized groups and need to further address accessibility barriers. Should a consumer have higher insurance costs because of disabilities or lack of resources for a better lifestyle? On the contrary, should a consumer have higher costs despite their ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

I guess what I’m saying is Health does not discriminate, whether it is yourself, family or friends. Ethical standards need to be agreed upon with respect to protecting the rights of all individuals regardless of financial status (Levine, 2017).

Sandra, a 47-year-old divorced woman, received a diagnosis of stage 3 ovarian cancer 4 years ago, for which she had a total hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo- oophorectomy, omentectomy, lymphadenectomy, and tumor debulking followed by chemotherapy, consisting of cisplatin (Platinol), paclitaxel (Taxol), and doxorubicin (Adriamycin). She did well for 2 years and then moved back to her hometown near her family and underwent three more rounds of secondline chemotherapy. She accepted a less stressful job, bought a house, renewed old friendships, and became more involved with her two sisters and their families.

Sandra developed several complications, including metastasis to the lungs. Then she could no longer work, drive, or care for herself. She had been told by her oncologist that there was nothing else that could be done and that she should consider entering a hospice. She met her attorney and prepared an advance directive and completed her will. She decided to have hospice care at home and, with the help of her family, set up her first floor as a living and sleeping area. She was cared for by family members around the clock for approximately 3 days.

Sandra observed that she was tiring everyone out so much that they could not really enjoy each other’s company. At this time, she contacted the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) to seek assistance. Her plan was to try to enjoy her family and friend’s visits. After assessment, the VNA nurse prioritized her problems to include fatigue and caregiver role strain. Other potential problem areas that may need to be incorporated into the care plan include anticipatory grieving and impaired comfort.

Many people would argue that a teacher’s most important role is to build/develop a student’s skills in CRITICAL THINKING and CRITICAL READING.  This creates a student who can teach themselves, enabling lifelong learning.

I want you to look at the article that comes up for your search and evaluate it for suitability of the reference. Use the following questions to guide your conference post.

  • Look at the scope of the article (does it cover the subject appropriately)
  • Who it the targeted to (is it a scholarly article, or is it written for a lay person)
  • The timeliness of the article (is the information current)
  • The authority of the article (who is writing it).
  • What about the documentation of the article (does it site other good references).
  • Finally, is the article objective.

Part 2: Discussion- Sexual Reproduction

During week 4, cellular division is described for organisms undergoing sexual and asexual reproduction. In addition, the concept of genetic inheritance through Mendel’s work and Morgan’s research on fruit fly are introduced. Answer the following questions on Mitosis, Meiosis, and genetic inheritance.

  1. During the cell cycle, cell progression in that process is tightly regulated. Provide an example of a disorder resulting from errors in Meiosis. Is this disorder inherited? Explain.
  2. There is a database summarizing all genetically inherited disorders. I encourage you to take a look at the database (https://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition ). It is a great resource. As you browse the database, you may find that most disorders are recessive. Why do you think there are not many dominantly-inherited disorders? (Think about the individual with a dominantly inherited disorder).
