Purpose Of Legislative Agencies

Learning more about the origins of legislative agencies will help you understand their purpose and shed light on what makes them a unique part of our American government.

For this paper, you will explain the functions of legislative agencies, describe an agency of interest, and describe the rulemaking procedures a public administrator for the agency follows.

Using the A–Z Index of U.S. Government Departments and AgenciesLinks to an external site., choose an agency you have a personal interest in or are curious about. Then, write a 4–5 page paper that fully responds to each of the items below and provides both a clear and thorough response to each:

  • Explain what a legislative agency is. What are its functions?
  • Clearly identify an agency of interest to you. When was your agency created? What is its purpose? Provide detailed information in both responses.
  • Identify at least two strengths and two weaknesses of your chosen agency. Be sure to provide examples of the identified strengths and weaknesses. You should provide at least one example for each strength and each weakness identified.
  • Briefly outline the rulemaking process and procedures for your agency.
  • In your opinion, has this agency been successful in accomplishing its mission? Why or why not? Provide evidence to support your opinion.

Use at least three sources to support your writing. Choose sources that are credible, relevant, and appropriate. Cite each source listed on your sources page at least one time within your assignment. For help with research, writing, and citing sources, access the library or review library guides.

This course requires the use of Strayer Writing Standards (SWS). The library is your home for SWS assistance, including citations and formatting. Please refer to the Library site for all support. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

A Competitive Proposal

A Competitive Proposal

Students can now bid for a share of up to £60 million in grant funding as part of the Commercial Management taught unit calendar. Our technology is Organic Rankine Cycle(ORC). The project is aimed at Babaoshan funeral home.

To support the final submission of the assignment, students are required to produce a competitive proposal that satisfies the following criterion:

1.Outline a decarbonisation plan/initiative across the business value chain (15 %) [200- 400 words]

-Describe or explain the extent to which any of the study would have still occurred without IETF funding (e.g. would it not have gone ahead at all, or would it still have gone ahead but at a smaller scale?)

-Describe or explain why some or none of the study would have gone ahead without public funding

-Describe or explain why you are not able to wholly fund the study from your own resources or other forms of private-sector funding (such as loans)

In this section you will be asked what would have happened without IETF money. This section seeks justification for the use of public money to support the study. You will be scored based on the strength of that justification.

Higher marks will be awarded to applications where there is a compelling case for why public funding is required and the positive difference this funding will make to the supply chain.

Higher scoring proposals will describe alternative sources of support with an explanation of why they are discounted or used in conjunction with the grant funding. It is likely that a very high proportion of the study would not have gone ahead without IETF support.

2. Identify one strength and one vulnerability of your project’s sustainability efforts. Justify your  choice (10 %) [200- 400 words]

-Describe or explain how the study could be replicated by others in the sector

-Describe or explain how the technology could be adopted in other sectors

-Describe or explain any measures you intend to take to encourage the project to be replicated outside your organisation.

-Describe or explain how the results of the study will be disseminated to others

In this section you will be asked to describe the extent to which the technology to be explored though this study could be adopted by others in the sector or wider sectors.

This section seeks to understand how the project fits into the broader industrial decarbonisation agenda. A technology that is repeatable and scalable across different industries and locations will have more value for industry. It will be scored based on the description of how this project could be repeated.

Higher marks will be given where a clear and strong argument is given for replicability with good consideration of other sectors and how learnings from this project will be disseminated. The argument is justified with supporting evidence.

Benchmark – School Board Proposal

Benchmark – School Board Proposal

Assessment Description

Advocacy is an essential and expected part of working with ELLs and their families. Teachers may find it necessary to advocate not only for the individual students in the classroom but also to address larger systemic issues where inequities in education might still exist.

Imagine you work in a school where there has been a turnover in school board members. The previous board was less than receptive to addressing the needs of ELLs in the school community. With the new school board members, you have a chance to bring awareness to a specific issue affecting ELLs and their families.

Part 1: Making a Proposal

Research examples of school board proposals and issues that affect the learning of ELLs to make a request to the school board in the scenario.

Note: Since this is a fictional proposal, you may create further school context as needed, to complete the assignment.

Write a one-page proposal to submit to the school board advocating for a new policy, program, or action to address your selected issue. Include the following in your letter:

  • Background or introduction of the issue, including rationale of the issue’s importance and how it promotes learning for ELLs.
  • Proposal of a new policy, program, or action that you would like the school board to support or approve regarding the issue.
  • Research and data supporting your proposal, cited and briefly summarized. Include a minimum of three scholarly resources.

Part 2: Summary

In a minimum of 500 words, summarize the importance of advocacy and professionalism as an ELL educator. Include the following in your summary:

  • Explain research and theories of cultural and linguistic diversity and equity that promote academic and social language learning for ELLs.
  • Describe three ways ESL teachers can advocate for ELL families and act as a professional resource in the educational community. Include examples that highlight the leadership role of ESL teachers.
  • Discuss your plans for professional growth through future advocacy work that supports the language development and academic achievement of ELLs, the rights of ELL families, and the advancement of the TESOL profession.

Support your summary with a minimum of three scholarly resources.

Note: These resources are separate from the resources included in your proposal.

Submit your proposal, summary, and resources in a single document.

While APA Style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines.
